On Wednesday 30th September,
2015, members of the CLAHRC YH Telehealth and Care Technologies (TaCT)
theme came together to test cutting edge technology (provided by
Portuguese company, Kinematix) that can provide feedback on the way
people walk. These innovative insoles were tested on people who have
suffered from a stroke, those who suffer from knee pain and for
comparison, healthy individuals.
In addition, partners at arthritis UK (ARUK) visited the session and were very impressed with the day, the technology, and what it aims to do.
Overall, the workshop was a great success and we look forward to analysing the data here at the University of Sheffield to see if it can indicate differences between walking patterns of healthy individuals, those with knee pain and those who have suffered from a stroke.
